Testimonial - Brad Fenson "Slogging through the spongy, moss covered rocks I knew it was only a matter of time before my leather hiking boots would start to leak. There's nothing I dislike more than wet feet. I racked my brain over the best type of footwear I could have brought for the challenging hunting conditions. I was in northern Quebec, on a caribou hunt, and went from jumping over the bow of the boat, to pull it to shore, to hiking well worn game trails through the stunted spruce forest. Once above treeline the terrain became even tougher to negotiate with rocky, steep hills, wet bogs, fens and flowing waterways to negotiate. I couldn't decide whether to wear leather hiking boots, rubber boots or hip waders. Back at camp, after my first day in the field, I expressed my frustration over traction, wet feet and the need to find the perfect boots for the demanding situations we faced. My guide, a weathered man of the land, simply smiled and said, "Ay boy, have you never heard of Muck Boots and the Woody Max"? Pulling his feet from under the table my guide showed off his precious boots and boasted of their unique and versatile design. Having worked in the north for decades and growing up on the north shore of eastern Quebec, where the Atlantic Ocean meets the St. Lawrence Seaway, finding the ultimate footwear was a challenge that produced a sound decision. With advice coming from someone that basically lived in boots every day I listened intently. Over the next couple days I watched our guide wade the edges of the lake, cross creeks, climb slippery, rocky peaks and never loose traction. Returning to camp each night the boots were rolled down to act more like a camp boot. I was sold. I picked up my first pair of Muck Boots at the Edmonton Boat and Sportsman show and have used them extensively. To break them in I took them on an April ice fishing adventure to the Yukon where we snow machined and fished five different lakes in as many days. The boots were warm, provided great traction and were comfortable for the ever changing conditions. I tracked a white-tailed buck to his bed on a warm day in late November. The melting snow provided the fresh tracks that led me to the resting buck. The boots kept my feet warm and dry while I followed the tracks up and down the hills and through the slough bottoms. I ended my year on a late-season antlerless elk hunt with some good friends (that also bought Muck Boots before our trip) and they were the perfect choice with knee deep snow to walk through. Dry, comfortable, form fitting and no blisters are the biggest selling features of this great footwear. I'd highly recommend them to anyone looking for the ultimate outdoor boots. " Brad Fenson "I wore the Muck wetlands for the first time on this year's deer hunt around my property at Parry Sound, Ontario and basically had them on all day for two weeks. I wore them in +120C and -50C, in sunshine and snow, on rocks and in swamps, and can not fault them. They are light, flexible, warm and waterproof. But more importantly the footbed resembles that of a high-end running shoe, with exceptional arch support and 'feel'. I bought one size above my normal dress shoe to accommodate a thick boot sock. I also found that I could drive my manual-transmission Subaru without problems because the Wetlands are not bulky. This can be an issue with some all-season footwear. Great boots."
